Deli Meat Recall 2010 – Following the nationwide egg recall, roast beef and ham is now being recalled. The roast beef and ham was to be distributed by shopping giant Wal-Mart delicatessens for use in sandwiches and according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the meat contained a potentially harmful bacteria.
No illnesses have been reported from the 380,000 pounds of meat products that were made by Zemco Industries in Buffalo and may contain Listeria, agency spokesman Gary Mickelson said.

Amber Nicklas’ Still Alive — A missing California girl who was abducted from her foster family six years ago was found safe in a home in Phoenix, police said. Amber Rose Nicklas, now 7, was a toddler when three of her biological aunts allegedly kidnapped her from a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Norwalk, Calif., in 2003 during a custodial visit.

A jury found former BART police Officer Johannes Mehserle guilty today of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the New Year’s Day 2009 shooting of an unarmed train rider, finding that he had acted with criminal negligence when he fired a single shot into Oscar Grant’s back at the Fruitvale Station in Oakland.

Police said late Tuesday night that a 23-year-old man would be charged in the death of his 22-year-old girlfriend, who disappeared after last being seen at a Northern Liberties nightclub. Gina Schickling of Philadelphia was last seen June 30 at a club called The Fire at 412 W. Girard Ave. A police source said she was there with her boyfriend. Gina Schickling’s boyfriend made a statement to investigators, a police source said.

Bob Probert Died of Heart Attack At 45 — Retired hockey enforcer Bob Probert, who played for the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks and struggled to overcome drinking problems, has died. He was 45. Probert was on a boat in Lake St. Clair with his wife, children and in-laws when he “developed severe chest pains” Monday, family friend Rich Rogow said. Probert’s father-in-law gave him CPR, Rogow said. Probert later died at Ontario’s Windsor Regional Medical Center, where Rogow spoke at an evening news conference.
